The short canisters are primarily used for the storage of cryogenic straws, while the long canisters each contain two goblets and are suitable for both straws and cryovials in holders. The racks are designed for the systematic storage of cryovials and are only used in the 2XL and 3XL series. These vessels are ideally suited for the structured storage of medium to large sample volumes in the liquid nitrogen phase; with long canisters and racks, storage in the gas phase may also be possible.
